This online course describes the features and benefits of the NetApp® ONTAP® 9 data management software. You learn to explain the architecture and functionality of SAN protocols. You also learn basic administration, configuration,and management of SAN protocols.
The ONTAP SAN Fundamentals course is designed for SAN administrators of any experience level.

What you will learn
This course focuses on enabling you to do the following:
- Describe how ONTAP software provides block access to a host
- Explain how SAN uses the iSCSI, FC, FCoE, and NVMe over Fibre Channel (NVMe/FC) protocols to transport data between a host and a storage system
- List the steps that are required to access LUNs and NVMe namespaces in astorage VM (storage virtual machine, also known as SVM) from the host
- Describe multipathing between the host and a cluster
